The goal of
Youth Ministry at St. George's is to equip
and empower youth to be faithful ministers
of Jesus Christ in and around their
communities. We are here to raise
leaders, to nurture a
personal and intimate relationship with God,
and show through our
example as God's children a life of faith
and hope amidst the confusion and complexity
of our world.
Our emphasis is on
contemplative youth empowered ministry that
seeks God's presence in each moment of our
lives, working to bring all young people a
fun and safe experience while spiritually
focusing on the disciplines of the early
church. These include celebration, study,
prayer, worship, silence, solitude and
sacrifice.
The anchor for this ministry
at St. George's is a Youth Advisory Council
which works with young people (including
youth officers and an elected vestry
representative) to plan and facilitate
programs and events which incorporate and
uplift these disciplines.
