Chapel
of the Holy Spirit
Come Holy Spirit, our souls inspire,
and lighten with celestial fire.
Keep far our foes;
keep peace at home;
where thou art guide, no ill can come.
Thy blessed unction from above,
is comfort, life, and fire of love.
Enable with perpetual light,
the dullness of our blinded sight.

The
invocation of God’s Holy Spirit
can lead to new life,
transformation and renewal…
In 1998 a dedicated group of
parishioners went to work in an
unused, leaky stairwell and
transformed the space – with
some help from masonry sealant
and the grace of God -- into a
worshipful place that foretold
the renewal of other sacred
areas at St. George’s.
Now, years later, with many
beautiful stained glass windows
and transformations throughout
the building since, this
original chapel stands as an
inspirational reminder of the
prodding of the Holy Spirit.
This
intimate space --with its simple
appointments, brilliant stained
glass window and icon of Christ
the Savior given to us by our
Russian Orthodox brothers and
sisters - is a unique backdrop
for meditation, reflection and
prayer.
As the seasons of the church
unfold, this is also a place to
light a candle -- as well as to
find timely literature and
meditative guides on a life that
seeks to embrace a relationship
with the nearer presence of
Christ.
The Chapel of the Holy Spirit is
is open weekdays from 9:00
a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is
located through the glass door
on the southeast side of the
church's sanctuary (to the right
of the altar area). Cross the
threshold and experience a
private place for personal
worship, quiet reflection - and
perhaps even something even
more…
