"I have often
believed that we should send
“Thanksgiving Cards” instead
of Christmas cards. Instead
of rushing around, trying to
find time in our busy
pre-Christmas schedules in
order to jot a quick note
that we may keep in touch
with the people we care
about, what if we took the
time in November to tell them
why we are thankful for
them?" -- Patti King |

Some of the people on my
“Thanksgiving Card List” would include:
My parents:
Thank you Mom and Dad for giving me a
love I could count on my whole life.
My husband:
You are my rock, my anchor
in life and my best friend. I thank God
everyday for you.
My children:
I am constantly amazed at the wonderful
people you are growing up to be. Thank
you for letting me see life anew through
your eyes.
My Best Friend in High
School:
Barb, even though we don’t
keep in touch the way we once did, just a
thought of you makes me smile and I will
always thank God for our friendship.
Our Mailman:
You must be going crazy
with all those college flyers going to
not one, but two of my children, but you
never complain and you always have a nice
word to say. Thanks!
My new family at St.
George’s:
Thank you for giving me
this opportunity to serve God and you. I
have never felt so fulfilled in a job and
I feel I have found a true vocation. And
thank you to the many people who give
back to God, by helping in innumerable
ways for our numerous children’s
programs. My job would be impossible
without you -- but it is a blessing with
you.
….and so many more.
A modern translation of the rule of St.
Benedict by John McQuiston II states:
The first rule is simply this:
live this life
and do whatever is done,
in a spirit of Thanksgiving.
Relearn this rule for yourselves and
teach it to your children and I know you
will have a blessed month!
