The pastoral care of the St. George's
parish family involves the ministry of
many people and groups who are committed
to reaching out to others in the name of
Christ.
Lay
Eucharistic Ministry (LEM)
Lay people administer the
chalice during celebrations of the Holy
Eucharist and assist the clergy in
bringing the sacrament to sick and
homebound members of the parish who are
unable to come to church. This ministry
requires special training and licensing
by the bishop.
Stephen
Ministry
Stephen
Ministers are dedicated and specially
trained parishioners who offer support
and pastoral care to members of the
parish in times of personal and family
crisis. To request a Stephen Minister,
please contact a member of the clergy.
For information on Stephen Ministry
training, please contact one of the
coordinators:
Fay Layden
or
Jean
Case.
Daughters' Dishes
'The
goal of this ministry, coordinated
by the Daughters of the King, is to make
food available to individuals or
families who, for whatever reason, need
assistance in preparing meals.
Members of the congregation who wish to
participate should freeze a single or
double portion of a main dish,
soup, vegetable, or dessert in a
disposable plastic container, label the
container with a preprinted label, and
place the container in the freezer in
St. George's Parish Hall kitchen.
If you know that you, your family, or
another parishioner will be in need
of food, you can take what you need from
the freezer. A growing supply
of containers is already in the freezer!
Feel free to add to the supply or
take what you need. For additional
information, contact
Diane Gentner,
438-1257.
Flower
Ministry

Volunteers are always
needed after the 10:30 service to deliver
altar flowers to the sick, homebound,
bereaved, newborn, and others with
pastoral concerns.
Prayer
Chain
Members of
the Prayer Chain pray for parishioners
who are in trouble, sorrow, need,
sickness, or any other adverse condition.
To make a prayer chain request, contact the church
office.
