Parish Life

At a Cornerstone Service
Participating in the parish life is an important way to meet people and make friends in a community as large as St. George's. The parish newsletter, The ORBIT, Sunday bulletins, and displays in the back of the church (narthex) all provide up-to-date information about what is happening in the life of the church.

Coffee Hour, a Sunday Fellowship Time
where volunteers help with the arrangement and preparation of refreshments for the education hour and after the 10:30 service. Visitors and new members are especially invited to hospitality time for fellowship and a chance to meet new people.

Daughters of the King The Daughters of the King is an Order for women who are communicants of the Episcopal Church, or churches in communion with it, or churches who are in the Historic Episcopate. Members undertake a Rule of Life, incorporating the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service. By reaffirmation of the promises made at Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism, dedicated to the spread of Christ's Kingdom and the strengthening of the spiritual life of her parish.  Contact Diane Gentner for more information.

Fellowship
St. George's offers occasional special parish-wide fellowship events: for example, a gala fall dinner, a winter spaghetti supper, a summer golf outing and parish picnic. Helpers are recruited for each event.

Membership
St. George’s membership Committee works to greet visitors, welcome new members into the parish, and to build community and fellowship within the parish. If you would care to receive a nametag, or would like to participate in our greeters ministry, please contact the Rector, Fr. Jim Larsen or Eric Schryver.

Men's Ministry
The Men’s Ministry at St. George’s offers a variety of opportunities for men of all ages and interests to have fellowship, fun, and to grow in faith.  There are regularly scheduled gatherings for men throughout the month.  Please check the current events portion of the website for dates/times, or feel free to contact the Rector, Fr. Jim Larsen, for more details.

Mothers & Others is a group of mothers (and children and dads!) who join for fellowship, support, fun, and education. The group fulfills a variety of functions, filling needs both within the group and throughout the parish as a whole. Social events are open to all and dates are in the Orbit and Sunday bulletin.

"20/30ers..."
Adults in this age range meet for a variety of fellowship activities and outings. Singles and married couples are welcome to join this group for sharing and fun.
Check the current events portion of the website for dates/times, or feel free to contact the Assistant Rector, Kiah Webster, for more details.

Rummage Sale is an annual event held the first weekend in October. The rummage sale benefits outreach projects. Clean linen, household appliances, cookware, toys, jewelry, sports equipment, books, hardware, clothing of all sizes, etc., are needed for a successful sale.

Small Group Communities
Throughout the year a variety of small groups meet in members' homes for study and fellowship. Call one of the clergy if you would like to join or start a group. Check the weekly bulletin and the monthly Orbit for on-going as well as seasonal opportunities.
