St. George's Vacation Bible
School
is over for this year, but you
can look forward to another
great program in 2004.
This is
what we did in 2003:
A
Super Cool
U ndersea B ible
A dventure
July 7th -11th, 2003 from 9:00 am
- 11:30 am. at St.
George's Church.
Children from ages 3 through
high school joined us for
crafts, games, short videos,
snacks and a little bit of
serious Bible study.
Middle school and high school
students led the elementary-age
children from station to
station, learning about a
different Bible story each day.
Every activity, and even the
snack each day, supported the
daily Bible story.
Day 1
(July 7) -
Elijah confronted the Prophets
of Baal (1 Kings 18:16-39) We
ate Elijah's altar at the
Dive-In Diner!
Day 2
(July 8) -
Jonah disobeyed God (Jonah 1-3)
We found out how a whale got inside St.
George's?
Day 3
(July 9) -
Jesus calmed a storm (Matthew
8:23-27) Chadder encountered
stormy seas in his Undersea
Bible Adventure.
Day 4
(July 10) - Jesus died on the
cross and rose again (Luke
23-24) We met a
Roman guard in Deep Bible
Adventures.
Day 5
(July 11) -
Jesus appeared to his followers
as they fished (Matthew
28:18-20; John 21:1-17) We got really wet
playing Fish Net Friends in Splish Splash Games!
Our
mission project this year was
collecting school supplies for
the Guatemalan school which St.
George's Social Issues Committee
supports.
Every day
was different for a full week of
nonstop fun, excitement and
learning about God's love for
all of us.
