O Lord, I want bells to peal!  I want to dance in the streets of Bethlehem! I want to sing with the heavenly host! For unto us a Son was given and he was called God with us. For those of us who believe, the whole world is decorated in love!"

Christmas at St. George's 2008Christmas means more here -- The Episcopal Church

ADVENT SUNDAY – November 30, 2008
This Sunday we will be discussing the Advent Wreath.  The Advent Wreath is a major part of our worship during these four Sundays.  The colors of the candles, the green wreath, and the round shape have much to say about the Christian life.

ADVENT II – December 7, 2008
Today, being the day after the Feast of Saint Nicholas, Bishop of Myra, we will focus upon the St. Nicholas.  He is the patron saint of seafarers and sailors, and more especially, children.  The tradition of his bearing gifts to children was brought to America by the Dutch, and has become popularly known as Santa Claus.

 ADVENT III – December 14, 2008
This Sunday is traditionally known as Rose Sunday.  The Rose is a symbol of the Virgin Mary, and she and her ministry as the mother of the Son of God is highlighted and celebrated today.

ADVENT IV – December 21, 2008
The Sunday School is perform their annual Christmas pageant at the 10:30 AM service, where the Christmas story is retold through the eyes of children.

CHRISTMAS EVE – December 24, 2008
The traditional Family Eucharist will be held at 5:00 PM, when the Rector will tell the Christmas story to the children.  This service will be accompanied by Christmas Carols.

At 10:30 PM, we will hold Lessons and Carols, followed at 11:00 PM with the beautiful Midnight Mass, with all of it's drama.  At 10:00 AM on Christmas Day, there will be a said Christmas service.
